Forma · the camera counts

Push-up test

Put the phone on the floor, to your side, and do as many push-ups as you can. Forma counts only the proper ones and tells you why one did not count.

How the test works

  1. Phone on the floor, about one metre away, to your side, so your whole body shows, legs included.
  2. Get into the push-up position: arms straight, body straight. When the skeleton on screen turns green, counting starts.
  3. Do as many push-ups as you can. The image never leaves the phone; only the result goes to your history and the leaderboard.

Which push-up counts

  • Elbows bend enough (a real descent, not just from the shoulders).
  • Body stays straight: no sagging or raised hips, no "cobra".
  • Knees don't touch the floor.
  • Hands don't move during the rep.

Frequently asked questions

How many push-ups should I be able to do?

It depends on age and training. More useful than a norm is your own progress: take the test today and in two weeks, with the same rules, and the camera judges the same way every time.

Do I have to film myself?

The camera has to see you, but the image stays on the phone. If you want your record homologated, you can keep the clip and post it yourself; a homologated record is worth double.

What do I get in Forma?

Push-ups, squats, pull-ups, sit-ups, lunges, jumping jacks and plank, counted by the camera, with history, ranks and a leaderboard per exercise. Included in PlanSports, 29 lei a month, first 7 days free.
